Configure WP Mail SMTP Plugin
To Configure the WP Mail SMTP Plugin only takes a few steps. First, you will need to download the plugin, if you want to use AWS Simple Email Service (SES) you will need the Professional Version of WP Mail SMTP. It will allow you to enter your AWS Credentials to connect and process email sending through Amazon.
Once you’ve installed the plugin on your WordPress website, it’s time to configure your settings.
Configure Plugin Settings
- Select “Settings -> WP Mail SMTP” from your WordPress left menu.
- Enter the email address you want to send an email from in the “From Email” address box.
- Enter the friendly name you want to appear in an email recipient’s inbox in the “From Name” box.
- Select the Mailer Service you are using for your email services.
- Enter your AWS Access Keys or service credentials depending on the mailer service you are using
- Use the “Save Settings” button to save the values you have entered
- Select the Email Test tab to test your Your Configuration of the WP Mail SMTP Plugin
Testing Your Configuration
Open the email test tab and enter an email address you can receive mail at.
Click the send email button to start a test. You will receive a message as to whether or not the test was successful. Also look for a test email in the inbox of the address you set up.
If successful, you are ready to go. The WP Mail SMTP Plugin is configured successfully and will integrate with all of your site’s email functions including alerts and forms.
